Sigh, I Think the Blog Is Working Again

All Posts 5 Comments

I am now starting to suspect that when I’ve been spending too much time blogging, a failsafe kicks in and locks everything up. Sort of a cooling off period, like when the stock market crashes and the exchange shuts down for an hour.

Anyway, I think you should be able to comment now.

Thanks, Bob. I think the old posts are still locked up.

I was not serious yesterday with the Wenzel comment.

Incidentally, I found an RSS feed for your comments in the lower left:

It did seem strange that Bob would accuse Bob of attacking Bob.

One way income tax is worse than consumption tax is it discourages work that doesn’t pay regularly. So if two people make 100k, the person who makes 25k every year for 4 years pays almost no taxes while the person who makes 100k one year and nothing the other 3 pays maybe 20k in taxes.

Also I think a consumption tax is inevitable because it allows the government to retax everyone’s savings including Roth IRAs.

You are really talking about progressive rates, not the income tax per se. If there was only one tax rate regardless of income, both persons would pay the same amount of tax.
