    I guess I’m missing the context of Scott Alexander’s piece. Is it a satire? A social commentary? An obvious allegory for something? Or is it just a (shockingly effective) creepypasta for Halloween? It’s very well written, and I want to appreciate it properly, but I have no idea how to think about it.
