I tend to not be much interested in open comparisons with the Bible, especially with the Gospels. A book of fiction should stand on its own. The overarching theme, self-sacrifice for one’s neighbor, is quite common in life and in fiction, with or without Biblical reference.
That being said, I find the series quite readable – I have read them in whole or in pieces multiple times – yet I rarely find anyone well versed. Rowling, herself, seems poorly positioned to critique her own book as when she chooses to Identify Republicans with the tyrannical ministry and Voldemort and the freedom loving resistance with the most socialist actors in the Democrat party.
