Well that’s all the evidence I need. Greenwald is clearly a secret Trump supporter and we should do everything in our power to get him removed from polite society.
The notion that the BBC is a bastion of unbiased journalistic integrity is revealed nonsensical when things like this happen on air: when a guest questions the infallibility of established state institutions, the hosts abandons any sense of impartiality and the dragon comes out, shouting down the guest in condescension. The host isn’t merely asking sensible questions, or even being a devil’s advocate; her tone implies that the guest is saying something completely outrageous, not because it might be wrong, but because it’s been brought up in the first place.
BTW Major Freedom sorry on Sumner’s post about Saddam and Kuwait: Upon re-reading, you were saying the same thing I was. (Or at least, we had in mind the same timeline.) I initially misunderstood your critique of Sumner.
Yes I also agree on the Saddam and Kuwait thing, especially since Sumner never went into detail or actually tried to defend his claim.
However he has a point that Trump is anything but bridgebuilding. Except for Russia and GB, Trump it seems pisses off the rest of the world like China, Europe expecially Germany, Mexico etc with his mercantilist views. And I think it already shows how this causes animosities among nations (they are taking our jobs away! Oh they want punish us with tarriffs and take our jobs away etc…)
You are literally one of a tiny minority of bloggers, or anyone really, whose criticisms and rejoinders I take seriously. You never have to apologize to me, you are making the world a better place.
S. Sumner: “I never said Obama should have gone to war in Syria. AND I DON’T HAVE ANY BIG PROBLEM WITH OBAMA’S FOREIGN POLICY.”
“Major Freedom works hard each day to prove that he’s the most tasteless, classless, moronic and petty human being every to walk on the face of the Earth. It’s just my luck that he chose to make a fool of himself on my blog.”
MF is without a doubt my favorite commenter anywhere. When I read his comments, its as if it came from my own mind. Apparently i’m tasteless, classless, moronic, and petty. But i’m not as eloquent.
I’ve been hoping you’ll start a blog, MF. Its a shame my RSS feed doesn’t simply follow your commentary.

😉
“WTF, am I talking to a brick wall?!” is what he must have thought every time he paused after she said something…
Part of that was probably the satellite delay. It was driving me nuts.
Right, a certain pauses was everytime, even when the interview was still normal going.
Fantastic interview given by Greenwald.
“I don’t think Trump is a paragon of truth, I would still fact check his claim about Russia probably being behind the hacks.”
Greenwald is the best journalist in the world today.

Consider Jeremy Paxman’s tone as Noam Chomsky suggests that Obama has been worse than Bush on foreign policy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mA4HYTO790
Good point James.
I am envious of how you can explicate the idea I had in mind but could not say as well as that.

Sounds like an interesting discussion. Which blog post of Sumner was it? Couldn’t find it there..
In the comments of this post.
Thanks!

Aww thanks MF. (I promised myself I wouldn’t cry.)
What a G.
For folks who keep records and keep score…..

A classic.

Greenwald has been stellar on all this, but holy crap is she awful. Awful. Anything goes if it looks bad for Trump.
