“Yes… Remember what we’re looking at. Gold is a currency. It is still, by all evidence, a premier currency. No fiat currency, including the dollar, can match it.” – Alan Greenspan, Oct 29, 2014.
Great interview Bob. Thanks. Jeff is doing a great job with these weekend interviews. I appreciate your “humble” approach and application of Austrian views.
Question. You said you went to FRED and typed in “Total Federal Reserve Balance Sheet.” I’m not finding that. Did you mean St. Louis Adjusted Monetary Base? Is there a way to see the Fed’s balance sheet on FRED?
Thanks Brad. I think if you go to the search box and start typing “total assets” it will show a pulldown menu and the top choice should be total assets of all Federal Reserve banks. It’s pretty similar to monetary base but normal people understand “total assets held by the Fed” better than “monetary base.”
This is already on my iPod. It’s like living in Rothbard’s Pepsi Model of Economics (aka “The Garden of Eden Model” of economics).
Good talk.

The undertaker is back?
Given that you’re such a passionate Christian, I’m impressed by your willingness to talk so candidly to Deists.

Thanks … that worked great.
