==> On Thursday I’ll be testifying before the Senate on the “social cost of carbon.”

==> What’s the current market price of my package? Details here.

Bob, off-topic but have you seen Krugman’s last two posts, discussing why deflation can’t help us? His usual answer is that deflation makes thing worse due to sticky debt. But now, he’s giving a new reason why deflation won’t help in a liquidity trap:
    http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/07/15/wage-price-flexibility-in-a-liquidity-trap-again-again-again/
“Yes, in a standard AS-AD or NK model, high unemployment leads to falling wages and prices, and this eventually restores full employment. But how does this happen? Not because making labor cheaper increases the quantity of labor demanded … No, the only reason deflation “works” in the standard model is that it increases the real money supply, which leads to lower interest rates; in effect, it acts like an expansionary monetary policy.

But Japan has been in a liquidity trap during the whole period Smith looks at. Monetary expansion is ineffective unless it can raise expectations of future inflation. Deflation is definitely not going to help. ”

By the way, this isn’t the first time he’s made this point. He made it once in 2008:
    krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/29/changes-in-money-wages-and-amity-shlaes/

But he hasn’t emphasized this as much as the debt stuff.

Now that’s funny right there. I thought about bidding, but I’m broke, I already have those books, and I am not really an autograph sorta guy (I prefer meeting and talking to the person instead).

      Boy am I dumb.

Here I thought Bob was adding an income stream as a male counterpart to Irma Nici.
