2 Legit, 2 Legit 2 Quit

Religious, Shameless Self-Promotion 7 Comments

OK I don’t want to jinx it by saying so, but I think the blog migration has been successful and we should no longer get a free–oh wait, I paid for it–ad for Fatcow anymore. I’m dealing with some “day job” stuff right now, but I’ll post on the sordid affair later today.

In the meantime, you can watch me debate theology in the comments of a Brad DeLong post. Sort of like watching musical stars try to do comedy on Saturday Night Live.

Awesome, I can’t wait to finally find out what the heck was going on.

Just an observation, your blog seems to load up quicker, but whether this continues to be the case remains to be seen. Your blog used to get hung up quite a lot when loading pages.

    Dr. Murphy,

I believe Romans 4 pertains to the theological “debate” on Delong’s page.

Also, Ephesians 2:8 explains it well

For it is by grace you have been savED, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–

Little did I know how important your logical babble was to me.
    Glad to have you back!

    Bob,

Excellent comments on DeLong’s blog. Sola Fide! That’s why the evangel is good news and not terrible news. If I had to work off all the sins committed in my life, I would be in serious trouble. This would be the worst news imaginable. The good news is that Jesus did all the work for me, and by repentance of my sin and faith in him as offered in the gospel, this work is applied to my account, and I am forgiven and declared righteous.

The call of the gospel offered in good faith to everyone alive is to call on Jesus just as you are, a sinner in need of forgiveness, and have all your sins washed away, and have your conscience scrubbed clean.

The urgent plea is to call on Jesus now, while there is still opportunity. Life is so fragile, and once it slips away, our destiny will either be with Jesus, fully sanctified and glorfied forever, or else we will be separated from God where there is awful darkeness, lonliness, and regret forever and ever. Jesus says that there will be weeping and bitterness there, and Peter likens such a place to being in an eternal prison.

    Sincerely,

    The Big Ukrainian

Some say that he isn’t allowed within 100 yds of Paul Krugman’s ego, and that when he sings, dogs within a mile radius begin to engage in coitus. All I know, is we call him the Murph!
    🙂

Sorry, I was watching an old episode of Top Gear.
