US Government on Libya: Before and After
Here’s President Obama talking about the US government’s goals for Libya. You can safely move the pointer to the 1:00 mark.
Now here’s Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (HT2 LRC):
(You just know those Arab terrorists–the irrational bloodthirsty lovers of violence–are going to misinterpret the second one. So paranoid. “The Americans are out to get us!” Yeah yeah.)
We are out to get terrorists, aren’t we?
I’m not, Daniel. If by “we” you mean the US government, I agree they are trying to get some of the terrorists–the ones who don’t play ball with the US government.
The same “we” you mentioned… “the Americans”. I’m not sure why libertarians regularly get upset when I use the first person plural. “We” is as inclusive as “Americans”. Clearly not everyone will agree. “We” still works. At least “we” (as English language speakers) think so.
OK Daniel, then why were the the Libyans fighting us for months? What the heck was their problem?
Their “we” was for some reason not coordinated with our “we”, and a good many “I’s” and “us’s” cropped up against our “we”. Don’t fret, our “we” will annihilate those errant “I” and “us” forces, so that we can forge a more fully integrated “we”.
I don’t mean to confuse you, but the aim of all of your being should be directed at understanding that it is really “they” and “them” that is the true enemy.
Got it? Good.
I forgot to mention “ours” and “mine” (except in passing). But, that is a struggle for another day.
Awww! Darnit, I forgot to mention “yours”. It seems that I am way in over my head.
Sorry.
Nice!
Obama: “Broadening our military mission to include regime change would be a mistake.”
The joy they feel in murdering people is sickening.
Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it.
This is bad. Not Madeleine Albright saying the deaths of hundreds of thousands of kids was “worth it” bad – but bad nonetheless.
If you have kids watching this site, you should see what comes at the end of the 2nd video.
You’re right. Clinton brags about killing more than Eazy-E.
