Are you planning on making any ethical arguments, or are you intending to use economic arguments only?
If you’re going ethical, maybe you can ask him if he had to choose between full employment and killing people, or widespread unemployment and no killing people, which will he choose? Then after he (hopefully!) says he’d rather have widespread unemployment and no killing of people, use his own justification and say the reason why it is unethical to choose full employment and killing people is the same reason why it is unethical to choose full employment and government spending.
If you’re going economics, then, well, you don’t need my help.
