    Donald wants publicity and the media is loving the chance to present a buffoonish candidate as the Republicans’ best and brightest. Together, they are unstoppable. Rand Paul did a wonderful, low-key, polite-sounding but devastating dismissal of the candidacy of Donald T. a few days back that is worth watching:

    It’s not that different from what I have read on the web in the past 10 years. The difference is that a presidential candidate is saying those things now. My explanation is that the internet has increased the circle of presidential hopefuls by showing that it is quite acceptable to hold these opinions. There is now a niche for every opinion and this emboldens people to utter said opinions, knowing that they are not alone.

    Hmm? He sounds like a megalomaniacal tyrant to me. But, I guess that is was our culture has been reduced to. To be honest, I think that he is nothing more than a “ringer”. He’s there to stir things up, get the crazies to support him and divide the votes.

    Boy, ya gotta love how “democracy” works, huh?
