Mish Archives?

All Posts 13 Comments

Quick, silly question: Does anybody know how I can scroll an archive of Mish’s blog posts? I spent a good 5 minutes looking all over his blog, and I don’t see such an option.

For example, suppose I want to see what he was saying about oil prices back in early 2009. Right now I’m reduced to an Advanced Google search, and that’s not very helpful.

Google Reader works wonders, I hope!

I think Google Reader depends on RSS feeds, so unless you’ve subscribed for many years it would be difficult to search older posts.

    Try this: http://blogsearch.google.com/

Type in globaleconomicanalysis and your search term.

Then select from/to dates from the left menu.

If you subscribe to a blog today in Google Reader, you can scroll back as far as you want. I tried this for Mish’s blog and it worked fine (don’t forget to press “all items”).

However there are a lot of posts and it would take a while to scroll down. The Google Reader search facility might be more useful for this than normal Google search.

Ah, then I guess Google must have archived the feeds (shouldn’t have been a surprise, though, since Google’s Blog Search also does this, apparently).

        Good tip 🙂

Go to Gene’s blog and look at the archive links on the left hand side. Click on one and note the URL. Anything you can do in Gene’s blog, you can do in Mish’s; he just doesn’t show the links.

You can just copy everything right of blogspot.com and append it to Mishs’s URL.

FTW. Thanks everyone else, but I had already been searching his site using an advanced Google search. But English Bob’s tip allowed me to also go and browse his posts from the period in question.

Try a Google search using your desired keyword or keywords, followed by site:globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com

    Ex. – keyword + site:globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com

I guess I should have used your keywords as an example: “oil prices” + 2009 + site:globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com

How do I scroll back to your older posts…you don’t have that option

    • bobmurphy says:

Hmm you’re right. During the revamp it fell off the blog. Well it’s at the bottom here.
