Before We Go Now

Climate Change, Contra Krugman, Potpourri, Tom Woods 10 Comments

The Contra Cruise departs this Sunday, and I probably won’t be able to blog for a good 10 days. (Some of you will have to troll Scott Sumner in my absence. Don’t let him get away with winning via definitional fiat.)

Here are some links:

==> Rob Bradley explains the corner into which James Hansen has painted himself, with his climate catastrophism.

==> Rob links to James Lovelock talking about the future and his changing thoughts on climate catastrophe.

==> SlateStarCodex linked to this fascinating history of the crisis in experimental psychology. I think something like this may unfold in economics over the next 15 years.

==> Mark Spitznagel evaluates various safe haven investments.

==> For the policy wonks, McCulloch at Independent Institute evaluates Jerry Taylor vs. my team on the carbon tax.

And now…

You know where you won’t be trolling Scott Sumner?

    Oh. Right.

  2. Gene Callahan says:

Doesn’t anybody in the climate wonk-o-sphere know that the ‘2’ in CO2 is supposed to be a subscript?

Have fun on your holiday Bob. Here’s my recommendation to listen before you go (if you haven’t already):

The rather astounding error analysis of climate models that suggest the margin for error is large… and a paper which keeps getting rejected for publication because the climate scientists just aren’t all that interested in being told.

It’s been up for a month I know, so could be others have heard it already, but don’t think I’ve seen the link posted.

What’s the Contra Cruise? How come I wasn’t invited?

And I’m indefinitely banned from Slate Star Codex, probably for partisan reasons. Take a look at the comments I was banned for.

    Lovelock, not Lovelace
