Bob Murphy: The Worst Economist in the World

Humor 6 Comments

I repeated the YouTube title because (as someone on Facebook pointed out) it looks like a video hatchet job on me. Nope, just bonus comedy. And that Yoram Bauman has the audacity to still refer to himself as the world’s only standup comedian.

“The original claim of the Austrian-lite crowd was that the economy was already in recession, not that a bust phase was coming in the future[.]”

“I was not surprised by the lousy May employment numbers. Actually, I am surprised that so many others were surprised. While the “experts” have talked about our “economic recovery” since the crash of 2008, I happen to believe we have been in a recession or even a depression for the past eight years.”

    😀

(Aside: The government felt it was necessary to prop up the economy after the housing crash/correction *because* there were still malinvestments that needed to be corrected.

(So, the correction wasn’t allowed to take place, fully. Which means that even though we had a crash, we were still in a housing bubble.

(That’s why you can be in a recession and still have boom phases of the business cycle in certain sectors of the economy.)

Maybe they should have a debate on the Tom Woods show?
I bet it would get a lot of listened.

      • Aby says:

And Murphy and Wenzel both sell financial Newsletters, so maybe theyd even get a few new subscriptions.

        Everybody keeps asking for that.

And Tom Woods has shown that he can be an impartial moderator.

        I hope it happens, too.

I mean that everybody keeps asking for a Peter Schiff vs. Robert Wenzel debate, and I hope *that* happens.

I would rather See a Bob vs Bob debate
