Potpourri

==> You know how you wish you could read a news story involving intellectual property and Hall & Oates? Look no further. But it’s not what you’re expecting…

==> Speaking of which, this mashup of H&O and Metallica is surprisingly awesome. (Dad, if you’re reading, don’t click it. You won’t like it.)

==> I participated in this interview on U.S. foreign policy and economic warfare. I haven’t had a chance to watch the finished product; let me know how it came out. My points were very nuanced in front of the camera guy…

It came out well. Was that your camera? It looked so professional. Also, your office?

    • Bob Murphy says:

Thanks David. No this was in a professional TV studio in Nashville. The people from the show contacted me and arranged to rent it out for a half hour. They sent a list of questions that the camera man read to me and then sent them the footage.

  2. E. Harding says:

I’d have been more wary about giving an interview with Iran’s equivalent of RT. The actual RT would be okay, though. Both countries are suffering from pretty much the same problems now.

One section at 13:53-15:00. Another at 22:23-23:46.

  4. Grane Peer says:

Honestly Bob I found it impossible to evaluate what you had to say after all that Karen Hudes clack.

  5. guest says:

What if Hall and Oates ate some Haulin’ Oats … while hauling oats?

(You all know you were thinking the same thing.)

  6. Jorge Borlandelli says:

    Hi Bob,
Some of the points made by the other guests were factually wrong. This does not deny some other points that were valid. Conspiracy theory only explains so far.

Some great Krugman bashing by Sumner I wanted to point you to over at Econlog. Maybe you two can play nice from now on.

      Thanks.

Really a nice critique of Scott S. And this is also the reason why I just don’t take Krugman seriously. He is an egomaniac, who thinks he is right because well he is right. Just ask him what he thinks not why he thinks that. No matter if he believes 101 text book theory or some iffy results from a study, he has the audacity to lecture other people how can they basically be so “stupid” to believe anything else than what he is believing.

This attitude of his quite probably didn’t change over time. I guess he was an arrogant, ungenerous and unfair person to critics in 1998 just as he is now.

Bob, this is your father, and guess what? I clicked it and you were right, I hated it. You are my son no longer. You are disowned immediately. Please do not come to dinner next Thanksgiving, nobody wants the poorly flung together mashed potatoes you always bring. Everyone hates it, but because of your power and riches as an Austrian economist, nobody tells you for fear of being whacked immediately by one of your Mises Institute radicals for criticizing you.

Robert Murphy played a zombie so it makes sense that his father would be a zebra-faced zombie.
