Did Paulson Warn of the Financial Bubble?

All Posts 13 Comments

I know there are a jillion YouTube clips of Ben Bernanke telling people not to worry, up until the world collapsed in September 2008, but did Henry Paulson say anything comparable? Written statements OK, but YouTube clips preferable.

Bob, what happened to the Sunday religious post?

  3. Bob Murphy says:

Boom Enopoletus, that Face the Nation clip is perfect. thanks!

So, when do we get to find out what it’s perfect for?

That “Face the Nation” video proves why AnCap could never work. If someone had actually hired Mr. Paulson to perform such duties in the marketplace and he violated his express contract through the same type of incompetence and treachery that he displayed as a government official, he’d be liable for breach of contract. That would be the end of civilization as we know it because our civilization depends upon our “leaders” being able to lie to us with impunity and to abuse us without penalty or shame.

We need treacherous and immoral cretins in society so that we can more effectively exploit people of whom we have never met (thus making it easier on our conscience….and skin) for our own material benefit.

Just as long as the treacherous and immoral cretins are under our intellectual influence and control. Then it’s for the public good, and to make a cohesive, unified society, and we’ll punish other free riders before they free ride, all so that those same treacherous cretins don’t work for others, because then that would make them criminal gangs and evil private corporations under no control.

      Logicaliciousness.

Henry Paulson attempts to dismount the big banking bandwagon, and get his share of the climate change schtick. Your friend and mine, James Delingpole, goes right off the deep end.

This is a bit like the Captain of the Titanic returning from his watery grave to tell us: “Trust me. I have experience of managing disasters. That’s why I’m just the man you want to appoint as the next head of the Federal Reserve.” Except not quite as ridiculous as Paulson’s claim, obviously.

    I’m banking on Dellers.
